student housing

Last academic year, no less than 5.500 students moved into digs in Antwerp. Are you looking for a den of your own too?

The best way to look for a decent den is via Kotweb. Kotweb is a big housing file, for which every Antwerp college, the Antwerp Institute for Tropical Medicine and the University of Antwerp worked together.

The dens in the file are rented out by means of a standard rental contract that protects the rights of the student and the landlord. Nevertheless, you can direct questions and file complaints to Kotweb.

The Kotweb file is only available to students of the Antwerp University Association. Not a student (yet), or just want to browse? Try Google. Some websites worth looking at:

Recommended areas: the city centre (surroundings of Keizerstraat, Prinsstraat, Prinsesstraat) is a nice area to live. However, if you'd like to get to know Antwerp off the beaten track, we recommend finding a spot in a different area. Sint-Andries and the fashionable (but expensive) Zuid are close by and very nice. A bit farther from the city centre is colourful and varied (and cheaper) Borgerhout and the beautiful Zurenborger area.

Like things a bit quieter? Lush and lovely Wilrijk boasts some very good digs. And the 'opposite bank of the river Scheldt', Linkeroever, shouldn't be overlooked. There's a good connection to the city centre, so no worries there.
