The pedestrianised Meir is Antwerp’s prime shopping street and boasts a store of just about every major fashion brand: H&M, Vero Moda, Men @ Work and Zara for example. Also international brands such as Replay, Diesel and Nokia and Base are well represented here. Kammenstraat is home to loads of denim stores, skate shops and vintage second hand stores. Nationalestraat and the streets on either side beat to the same vibe, attracting the young, hip or snobby. The flagship stores of major Antwerp and international designers sit between Groenplaats and Leopold De Waelplaats. South of Grote Markt are a mish mash of clothes stores, food stores and tourist traps and further on are the pricy antique shops of Kloosterstraat. Between Meirbrug and Mechelseplein are small cobbled streets with designers’ shops adjacent to old school bakeries. Lange Koepoortstraat boasts clothes and music shops, while electronics and Hi Fi can be found on Sint-Katelijnevest. At last, there are shopping malls near Central Station (Century Centre), Groenplaats (Grand Bazar) and the recently renovated Stadsfeestzaal on the Meir.
